CS2 trading tips for beginners — 12 rules that save you money

1–3: Know the item

Learn the float ranges, check which variants exist and always price the exact item, not the name. A Field-Tested and a Minimal Wear version can be worlds apart. Bookmark the float and Doppler guides – they cover the two most common pricing mistakes.

4–6: Know the market

Look at several listings and recent sales. Prefer liquid items when you are starting out: they are easier to sell again if you change your mind. Be careful with overpay for 'rare' floats or patterns that few buyers actually want. Our liquidity guide explains why some items sell in minutes and others take weeks.

7–9: Stay safe

Use Steam Guard Mobile, verify every bot and never log in through links in chat. Revoke Web API keys you did not create. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it is. Read the scam guide once – it takes five minutes and covers the tricks that catch most people.

10: Sell instead of swapping when it is faster

Finding a one-to-one swap can take days. Selling for balance and buying the item you want separately is often quicker and gives you more choice. On cs2trading.gg you can sell for balance and spend it on skins in the same account.

11: Keep records

Save receipts, trade offer IDs and screenshots. They help with support and with your own bookkeeping. Your cs2trading.gg wallet stores documents for every sale.

12: Do not chase the top

Nobody times the market perfectly. Decide your price, accept a fair offer and move on to the next item. Patience and good information beat guessing.
